Using an innovative application of industrial epoxy and resin, the work’s semi-translucent surface appears to filter and somehow both contain and emit illumination. Pashgian thinks of her works as “presences” in space, which do not reveal everything at once, where one observes changes coming and going, appearing and receding, visible and invisible—a phenomenon of constant movement. And as with her work in general, light is both the subject and object.
